Nursing Considerations for HER2+ Breast Cancer: THE ROLE OF HERCEPTIN® (trastuzumab)

Participate in an interactive program with a select group of your colleagues. This program will be led by an oncology nurse who will present key information from the Adjuvant and Metastatic Herceptin (trastuzumab) clinical trials regarding the patient eligibility criteria, efficacy and safety data, and monitoring and management of Herceptin-associated toxicities. At the conclusion of the presentation, an oncology nurse will moderate an interactive question-and-answer session.

Objectives

  • Describe the role of HER2 and HER2 overexpression in breast cancer.
  • Discuss key Herceptin trial data in HER2+ breast cancer.
  • Identify key nursing management considerations of Herceptin-related toxicities.
